With summer in full swing, the Paperpile team continues to focus on launching features that help you read and write papers with less overhead and stress.
Here’s a roundup of recent improvements: results from our AI user survey, improvements to search and reference editing, and a preview of what’s ahead for Paperpile.
AI in research
We recently published a blog post summarizing a survey of 1,800 Paperpile subscribers on their use of AI in research. The findings showed how researchers are adapting to this new class of tools and what they hope for in the future. We also defined three key principles that will guide Paperpile’s future AI-powered features and integrations.

Faster and full-text: search improvements
The new Paperpile search finds results in real-time, even when searching full-text PDFs. Besides speed, we’ve launched a number of improvements to improve precision and convenience.

Powerful organization tools for Pilers and Filers
The new Paperpile launched with new tools to make it easier to organize and recall your references when you need them. No matter whether you’re what we call a Piler (someone who brings everything into their main library, then uses search) or a Filer (someone who is meticulous with folders and labels up front).

Batch reference edits and more
Our goal at Paperpile is to provide you with accurate citation metadata as soon as you click Save. But at some point (often hours before a submission deadline) there’s a need to edit some fine detail. The revamped edit dialog comes with powerful new tools to make it easy to get your citations right, fast.

Watch the recording: Paperpile and Litmaps for literature reviews
Paperpile recently co-presented a webinar on literature reviews in collaboration with the Litmaps team. We shared how Paperpile fits into the bigger picture when starting a new project, and highlighted how our integrations with tools like Litmaps help save you time and manual effort.
