Upload and use custom citation styles
Paperpile supports more than 8,000 Citation Style Language (CSL) styles. If you can’t find the exact one you need, you can modify an existing style or create your own using tools like CSL’s online editor, then upload it to your library.
Upload a custom style
To upload a custom citation style:
- Go to Settings > Citation styles.
- Click Upload CSL file at the bottom of the dialog.
- Select the CSL file from your computer.
The uploaded style will be automatically set as your library default. You can upload multiple custom styles if needed.
Manage custom styles
You can download or delete uploaded style files from the same Citation styles dialog. Find your custom style in the list, click Download to save a copy to your computer, or click the trash can to delete it.
