Try Paperpile for free
To use Paperpile, you need a subscription. However, you can test Paperpile for free for 30 days. Here are common questions about Paperpile’s free trial.
How can I start my trial?
Simply sign up for Paperpile at paperpile.com
How long is the trial?
The trial lasts 30 days. You can always check how many days are left in your trial in Settings > Billing.
What features are included in the trial? Is the trial different from the full version?
The trial gives you access to all Paperpile features in the Expert plan, so you can evaluate the full product.
However, a few Enterprise features, such as single sign-on (SSO), are not enabled by default. If you want to test these during your trial, please contact us via the in-app chat or support@paperpile.com, and we can enable them for your trial.
If you decide to subscribe after your trial, your available features will depend on the plan you choose. See Choose the right plan for you for more information.
For details on what happens to any features that are available during your trial but not included in your chosen plan, see What happens when I downgrade my plan?
What happens after your trial has expired?
Once your trial expires, you cannot access Paperpile anymore. To continue using Paperpile, you need a subscription, see Subscribe to Paperpile. Alternatively, you can join a team or organization with a subscription, see Use Paperpile with the subscription of your team or organization.
Will I lose access to my data if my trial has expired?
Even after your trial expires, you will retain access to the Settings area and can export your reference data from there in common formats such as BibTeX, RIS, CSV, and JSON.
To export PDFs and other files from your library, see Bulk download PDFs and other files.
Additionally, all citations and bibliographies in documents you have written with Google Docs and Word will remain intact.
Do you require a credit card? Do I get charged if I don’t cancel my trial on time?
No! If you do not choose to subscribe after your trial ends, you don’t need to cancel anything, and you will not be charged.
Can I extend my trial?
30 days is a fair period to find out if Paperpile is the right product for you. In general, we do not extend or pause trials.
However, if you signed up and then did not have time to test it in your first 30 days or you want to give it another try after a while, we can extend trials for up to 2 weeks. Please reach out to us via the in-app chat or support@paperpile.com if you have questions about that.
How do trials work for teams?
- If you create a team during your trial, all members will have access to Paperpile while the owner of the team has an active trial.
- Once the owner’s trial expires without a subscription, members will lose access through the team owner’s trial.
- However, team members also get their personal 30-day trial. They will keep access until either the team owner’s or their own trial expires, whichever comes last.
