Troubleshooting: Problem with your network or VPN

Paperpile displays a "Problem with your network or VPN" error

You can encounter this problem when you work on a restricted company network, a VPN, or proxy that modify standard SSL certificates along the way and use so called "self-signed" certificates.

The Paperpile desktop app currently doesn't trust such "self-signed" certificates, which means you cannot sign in or or sync data between to your computer.

Please contact your company's IT support to whitelist the following URLs from being intercepted:

  • paperpile.com
  • www.paperpile.com
  • api.paperpile.com
  • search.paperpile.com

Note: We hope to support self-signed certificates in the future.
