Manage folders and labels in bulk

The Manage folders and Manage labels dialogs let you update labels and folders in bulk from one place, without navigating through multiple menus and clicks.

Manage folders in bulk

In the sidebar, click the three-dot menu next to the My Library header and select Manage folders.

You can sort the list alphabetically by name or by number of references. To sort, click Name at the top of the list.

 

The Manage folders dialog lets you:

  • Search for folders with the search box.
  • Select individual folders—or all at once—using the checkboxes.
  • View the total and selected folder count beside the search box.
  • Create a folder with New folder.
  • Rename any folder by clicking inside its text box and typing a new name.
  • Rename multiple folders with Find and replace (finds and replaces text across all selected names).
  • Delete folders individually using the trash button, or delete multiple folders at once with Delete.

Manage labels in bulk

In the sidebar, click the three-dot menu next to the Labels header and select Manage labels.

You can sort the list alphabetically by name or by number of references. Click the column header to sort the list.

 

The Manage labels dialog lets you:

  • Search for labels with the search box.
  • Select individual labels—or all at once—using the checkboxes.
  • View the total and selected label count beside the search box.
  • Create a label with New label.
  • Change color for selected labels with Color.
  • Merge similar labels with Merge.
  • Rename any label by clicking inside its text box and typing a new name.
  • Rename multiple labels with Find and replace (finds and replaces text across all selected names).
  • Delete labels individually using the trash button, or delete multiple labels at once with Delete.
