Enterprise subscriptions
Many large companies and for-profit research institutes provide Paperpile to their employees and affiliates with enterprise subscriptions.
Smaller team subscriptions can be purchased through the Paperpile web app. Enterprise subscriptions include additional technical integration (like single sign-on) and contracting work handled by the Paperpile sales team.
Enterprise subscriptions include all available Paperpile features, priority support, and custom security reviews or integration work as needed.
Enterprise features and trials
You cannot enable enterprise features (like single sign-on) directly in the app. To evaluate enterprise features, contact sales@paperpile.com and we'll help set up an evaluation.
During a standard Paperpile trial, all non-enterprise features are available. If you need enterprise features during your evaluation (for example, to test SSO), contact us and we can enable them as part of an enterprise trial.
Enterprise pricing
Our sales team provides custom quotes based on your organization's needs.
Quotes are typically based on one of the following models:
- Unlimited seats / site license: Anyone in the organization may sign up for and use Paperpile. Pricing is based on the FTE equivalent size of the organization.
- Seat-based subscription: An organization pays for a pre-set number of paid seats in advance.
To request a quote, contact sales@paperpile.com and include the approximate organization size, the number of expected Paperpile users (if known), and whether you need SSO or other specific requirements.

Request a trial
You can ask to be set up with a trial instance including all enterprise features. This can include multiple accounts for different stakeholders based on their roles (for example, research department lead, IT support specialist, head librarian).
Subscribe
Once you're ready to subscribe, the sales team will help you create a license and payment mechanism that suits your needs. Most enterprise customers prefer invoice-based payments, but we can also set up automatic credit card payments for hassle-free billing.
See Pricing to compare enterprise features with group subscriptions.
Renew your enterprise subscription
Paperpile will reach out to your organization’s designated administrator in advance of the subscription expiration. We initiate renewals 2-3 months before the subscription period ends to allow time for contracting..
Keep your contact information current
Your organization should have an up-to-date point of contact. The ideal person:
- Has decision-making authority for software purchases
- Understands the needs of researchers in the organization, or is an active researcher themselves
If your organization's Paperpile administrator has changed, contact sales@paperpile.com to update the point of contact.
