By using EZproxy, you can effortlessly obtain these resources in the same manner as on-campus access, making sure you have essential information at your disposal, whether you are learning from home, engaging in research at a café, or exploring foreign lands.
Why use EZproxy?
Due to licensing contracts with publishers and content providers, many of the university's electronic resources are only available for on-campus access. EZproxy allows you to access these resources remotely by confirming your university login information and making it seem as though your request is coming from an on-campus IP address.
What’s the difference between EZproxy, OpenAthens, and VPN?
When comparing EZproxy, OpenAthens, and VPN, it’s helpful to think about what each tool is designed to do. VPNs are great for full network access, allowing staff and faculty to use internal tools as if they were on campus. EZproxy and OpenAthens, however, are designed specifically for accessing library and academic resources. OpenAthens improves on EZproxy by using modern identity-based access instead of relying on IP ranges, making it easier to manage access permissions across different publishers and platforms.
